I believe that every dog is unique and deserves individualized training. The use of positive reinforcement methods help foster a strong bond between you and your furry companion.
Training classes and sessions are for companion animals living their lives with humans. Any dog sports we go over are to help enrich the life of your dog and provide a fun outlet for energy. If you are interested in serious competition with your dog, please have a conversation with me.
Although I do know how to train for bitework (dog taking down a human), that is not something I will be offering.
Science of Sit LLC is insured and all agents are bonded for everyone's peace of mind.
If an issue is occuring in the home, why go outside the home to solve it? That being said, these sessions are primarily for behavior issues. We can also work on basic cues if you or your dog are more comfortable at home.
If you are looking for help with behavior or aren't really sure what you need, schedule a consult first. Then we can develop a plan of what may help you and your dog live happier.

I am a certified evaluator for all levels of AKC Canine Good Citizen, as well as S.T.A.R. Puppy. I offer classes and testing for these as well.
I attend conferences, talks and webinars to stay current in the ever-changing landscape of the pet training world. I also am a member of the Association for Professional Dog Training International.
My name is Annette Renshaw. I have loved and lived with animals all of my life. I have always sought to understand them and provide the best care that I can to them. Whether it was spending time sitting in a kennel with a shy dog, making little treat sandwiches for a cat to take his pills, or setting boundaries with a doggie wild child. Animals of all kinds have always been my passion.
I used to think that loving the animals was enough. Over the years, I came to understand that loving them was only a part of the puzzle . I needed education to understand them and how best to help them live better lives. That is why I went back to school and transferred to SUNY Cobleskill.
While at the college, I trained dogs in obedience, AKC agility, and treibball. I also trained for AKC Canine Good Citizen testing and therapy dog certification with Therapy Dogs International. I learned by doing and not just through lecture, from professors that had worked with dogs for many years.
I follow the L.I.M.A (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) principles when training and working with animals. I believe in utilizing and building upon the relationship between the owner and pet. The proper mix between passion and education.
